The Pastor is the Chief Officer of the Church as called and placed by God.  He is responsible for directing and supervising the public religious instruction of the congregation in the pulpit and in all other department of the church.  He is the overseer of the entire church and is obligated to God to exhort, admonish, reprove and rebuke those  whom God has committed to him for shepherding.  Acts 20:28-29; II Timothy 4:1-4; John 21:15-17.  He must possess the highest Christian character.  I Timothy 3:1-8; Titus 1:1-9.  The Pastor is entrusted by God to lead elected officials who are only his helpers. He alone is the Divinely appointed overseer of the Church, Acts 20:29; Jeremiah 3:15.

His Duties consists of the following:

            A.        Feeding - Jeremiah 3:15; 1 Peter 5:2-3

            B.        Guiding - Ephesians 4:11-14

            C.        Guarding - John 10:11-13

            D.        Leading - John 10:27

Every member of the church must obey the Pastor’s voice, for he is the overseer of every ministry, and ministry leader in the church. The bible says, “Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the Word of God; whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation,” Hebrews 13:7. The scripture also states, “Obey them that have the rule over you, as they that give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief for that is unprofitable for you.” Hebrews 13:17. “Let elders that rule will be counted worthy of double honor, especially who labor in the word and doctrine.” 1 Timothy 5:17.
